Green Carpet Cleaning
Our cleaning product is soap free, odorless, all organic, biodegradable, no chlorinated solvents and is water based. It leaves behind no sticky residue unlike most carpet cleaners and sticky residue means carpets will attract dirt quicker and therefore the cleaning does not last near as long the “Monkey” (what we lovingly call our cleaning solution).
The Monkey has more cleaning power than any product on the market today and has a nice, fresh scent. Not only does this product have amazing cleanability (yes, it is a word) but it is environmentally friendly, also. It is gentle on your carpets, by not using harsh chemicals the fibers of your carpet last longer which adds many more years onto the life of your investment. 
The Monkey contains no ingredients which are listed in the National Toxicity Program or the International Agency for Research on Cancer as being suspected carcinogens. The other great thing you should know about the Monkey is it doesn’t contain butyl.
What is Butyl?
Butyl Cellosolve is a chemical that is found in a wide variety of household cleaning agents – glass cleaners, oven cleaners, general degreasers, spot removers, air fresheners, and carpet cleaners, among other things. It is a colorless liquid with a sweet, ether-like odour and is manufactured by the Eastman Kodak company. But why should you look out for it?
It is also known as butyl glycol, Dowanol, and ethylene glycol monobutyl ether (EGBE), which has made it on to the list of California’s toxic air substances, and some animal studies indicate that it produces reproductive problems, such as testicular damage, reduced fertility, death of embryos and birth defects. In humans, it can irritate mucous membranes and cause liver and kidney damage. Butyl cellosolve is also a neurotoxin that can depress the nervous system and cause a variety of associated problems. Sounds like something we should be using around our house, no?

No Waste Water for Your Community
The Carpet Monkey goes one step further. Our carpet cleaning solution and method are not only gentle on your carpet fibers but produce no waste water. Our specially designed bonnets absorb all the funk and cleaning solution that we use to clean your carpets. This means our technicians are not dumping tons of dirty water and chemicals into your septic system inside or our community’s storm drain system outside.
In some communities these systems are combined, which means the water gets treated before released to local water bodies. In contrast, in some areas the two systems are separate allowing anything placed in the storm drain system to go directly into your local water bodies.
While it may not be illegal to discharge carpet cleaning wastewater in the sanitary sewer system, you are supposed to contact local health department or EPA before doing so, as regulations vary from city to city. No permits to obtain or departments have to be notified.
